Kirkpatrick & Startzel, P.S. handles a wide variety of insurance-related and/or insurance defense cases. The types of cases that fall within this area of expertise include:
- Product Liability Defense -- Product liability cases cover a wide spectrum of industries, from makers of heavy industrial equipment to the manufacturers of retail products. We have also defended claims arising from exposure to toxic substances, including inappropriate application of pesticides to food-borne illnesses or injuries.
- General Personal Actions -- We have defended individuals involved in a variety of other types of accidents, most prominently car accidents or slip and fall injuries. We have extensive experience in not only defending these cases from a liability standpoint, but also from a damage perspective. We are accustomed to hiring experts on a variety of different topics to assist in defending our clients and aggressively challenging the opposing experts hired by the other side.
- Professional Malpractice -- K&S represents veterinarians, attorneys and other professionals who are sued for alleged professional malpractice.
- Construction Defect -- K&S has defended a wide variety of construction defect claims, ranging from multi-million-dollar condominium and apartment complexes to residential homes. The construction litigation has ranged from EIFS claims to defective slabs to failure to comply with Uniform Building Code requirements or fire stopping and/or suppression regulations. We are committed to providing responsive and efficient legal services to all types of construction clients, to general contractors and to subcontractors.
- County and Government Defense -- We represent counties and municipalities that are sued involving a number of types of claims, ranging from land disputes to constitutional rights violations allegedly committed by law enforcement officers. These cases are frequently very high profile and can involve multi-million-dollar claims. K&S has defended Spokane, Adams and Walla Walla Counties, among others.
